                    This Week's Questions

Is this a Reverse?
Q If opener opens with a convenient minor, then bids a major at the two level, is that a reverse?
A Depends how the bidding goes.   1D   1H   2S   would be a jumpshift.   1D   1S   2H   would be a reverse. See our page for more information.

Stayman with 6 Card Major?
Q Partner opens 1NT and I have 6 spades and 4 hearts. Do I bid 2 clubs Stayman?
A Yes, partner might have 4 hearts and no spades so you have to explore. If you don't find a 4-4 fit then you can bid the spades to check on a different kind of fit.

22 Point Overcall
Q We play 5 card majors, weak 2 bids. You are south. East opens with 1 spade. I was South with 22 points. What do I bid?
A A good bid is to start with a double to get partner in on the action. Later you can bid or cuebid to get across your strong point count. Click here for overcall bid cards.
