				A clock runs 4 minutes slow per hour. It was set 3 1/2 hours ago. A watch shows noon. When will the clock show noon? Solution

 



Solution to a slow clock problem.

In 3 1/2 hours the clock has become 14 minutes slow,
or about 1 minute each 1/4 hour. It now shows the time
to be 11:46. During the next 1/4 hour it will lose an
additional minute. It's hands will show noon in 15 minutes.
