| Why did the man in the orange juice factory get fired? Answer | |||||||||||
|    In rural PA a group of men were drinking and shooting at a raccoon from their deck. Dodging bullets the animal sought shelter in a nearby drain pipe. They tried flushing it out by pouring gasoline down the pipe and lighting it. Didn't work. So one of them emptied the can and climbed in to get the match closer. The explosion expelled him like a Polaris missile some 200 feet across his yard. Miraculously he suffered only minor injuries. | In 1872 Elijah McCoy invented the lubricating cup for the steam engine. Solution to Horsing Around.
Without thinking you might answer 8 miles per hour (half of 12 +4).
But let's say the trip one way is 12 miles. So it takes him 1 hour to
get there at 12 miles/hour, and 3 hours to return at 4 miles/hour. So
our hardworking horse travels 24 miles in 4 hours, or 6 miles/hour.
