Bridge Terms


  Tempo  When bidding or playing the hand you must strive to make all actions in "Tempo". Acting quickly sometimes, and slowly othertimes is "Out of Tempo".
 
  Unauthorized Information  When you play or bid out of tempo you are giving "Unauthorized Information" to partner about what your hand is like.
 
  Hesitation  Making an out of tempo action. Also called a "Huddle".
 
  Informative Trancing  Taking a long time to make a bid or play. Partner may likely gain certain unauthorized information from your actions and your team can be penalized in some cases.
