Bridge Terms


  Default Agreement  A bidding sequence that your partnership has never discussed, so by default it will be "Natural", or a "Cue Bid" etc.
 
  Rule of 20  Some play that you can open the bidding if your points plus the length of your two long suits equals 20.
 
  Fast Arrival  Bidding something like 1S   4S. When you don't bid any other suit you don't give the opponents any clues on what suits to lead or avoid leading.
 
  Granny  A Grand Slam. Just like your grandma, you never get tired of them.
